The Department of Electrical Engineering
was found in 1971. Since then, the
department has made wonderful
achievements in many fields such as
technological teaching, patents,
projects etc.. With these achievements,
the department and her graduated
students are recognized by employers and
teaching is a very important part of
competitive ability of a country. The
demands of such kind of human resources
of technology highly increase
nowadays. The department has recognized
the requirements and has done the
technological teaching constructively
since the first day it has been founded.
The department sets
the educational goals to educate the
students so that they not only know the theories
but also familiarize themselves the practices. While
many fields of electrical engineering
are involved in the department, such as
electronics, controls, power,
communication, and optoelectronics, the
department focuses mainly on three areas: (1) Electrical Machine Control, (2) Applications and Management of Electric Energy, and (3) Practice and
Applications of Single-Chip Microcontroller.
Presently, the faculty members of the department are
25, including professors, associate
professors, assistant professors and
instructors; more than a half of them are with
the degree of Ph.D. in the fields
of electrical engineering.
1971 : 5-year junior college for
the Department of Electrical Engineering
1991 : Evening school of 2-year junior college
for Department of E.E. was established.
Affiliated junior college for Department of E.E.
2000 : Shu-Teh Junior College of
Technology was renamed Hsiuping
Institute of Technology, and 2-year
was established for Department of E.E..
2001 : 4-year college was established for Department of E.E..
2006 : The graduate school was established for
Department of E.E..
2011 : Hsiuping Institute of
Technology was renamed Hsiuping University
of Science and Technology.
